Researchers Find That Chimps and Bonobos Have Long-Term Memory of Friends and Relatives
A team of researchers led by a comparative psychologist from the University of California, Berkeley, has discovered that great apes and chimpanzees, our closest living relatives, demonstrate the ability to recognize groupmates they haven't encountered in over two decades. This finding provides evidence of what is considered the longest-lasting nonhuman memory ever recorded.
