A group of astronomers from around the world has announced the discovery of an exceptionally metal-poor star. They made this breakthrough using the Gemini High-resolution Optical SpecTrograph (GHOST) at the Gemini South telescope in Chile, as detailed in their research paper published on the arXiv pre-print server on October 25.
