Masayoshi Nishida directs the manga adaptation at Wolfsbane and Lightbox. A new visual and full staff list arrive, but the report gives no anime premiere date.

Eugene Dawson wants sword lessons; his teacher keeps breaking his concentration in My Sword Saint Master Is Too Cute to Live With! The anime’s official website revealed a new promotional visual and its production staff on September 11, according to Anime News Network. Masayoshi Nishida directs at Wolfsbane and Lightbox. The adaptation takes Kennoji and R_ringo’s manga to television, with a team now attached to its characters, weapons, music, and scripts. [1]

My Sword Saint Master Names Its Team

Masayoshi Nishida takes the director’s chair with credits that include Princess Knight, Little Astro Boy, and Makina-san’s a Love Bot?!, while Noriyoshi Sasaki joins the production as technical director. Yōhei Kashii handles the series scripts. Anime News Network lists TenPuru and My One-Hit Kill Sister among Kashii’s earlier work, giving the announcement a connection to other manga adaptations built around comedy and their central character relationships. [1]

Nishida and Kashii share another credit: Makina-san’s a Love Bot?! Both now join My Sword Saint Master, although the announcement does not spell out how they will approach Eugene and Liza’s relationship or structure the manga’s story for television. Kashii handles the scripts. Noriyoshi Sasaki’s separate technical director credit rounds out the senior creative appointments, before the announcement turns to the artists developing the characters and their surroundings.

WWWave Corporation’s Deregula anime label is producing the adaptation. Wolfsbane and Lightbox handle the animation, and Kōhei Motokawa serves as animation producer. Those names cover different production responsibilities within the same project; Deregula is the label behind the anime, while the two studios receive the animation credit. The remaining appointments extend from the characters’ designs to the weapons they carry.

The Artists Behind the Swords

Ichirō Tanaka designs the characters. Ayame Etō and Yusho Hayakawa handle sub-character designs, and Hayakawa also serves as chief animation director. Kumiko Yoshikawa designs the props, weapons, and small objects. For an adaptation whose central relationship develops through sword training, the announcement identifies the artists responsible for both the people at the center of the story and the equipment around them. [1]

Norifumi Nakamura directs the art, while Fuyuto Muraguchi takes the color key artist credit. Kōhei Ogawa handles compositing photography at Gekkō (the credited company for that work). Nao Kawakami edits the anime and also receives a production supervision credit. Atomu Saegusa, who also works under the name Takatora Shiomi, handles setting development. The report provides those responsibilities without detailing the anime’s locations or the visual choices the team plans to make.

12sound composes the music. Kazuki Kuwahara directs the sound. Anime News Network names both in its September 11 account of the My Sword Saint Master reveal, without providing opening or ending theme details or naming the performers who might sing them. The announcement covers animation, art, editing, and audio; the story those departments will bring to the screen begins with a trainee whose attention keeps wandering.

Liza Makes Training Complicated

Liza Parsandra is the Sword Saint. Eugene Dawson becomes her trainee because he wants to grow stronger, according to Seven Seas Entertainment’s synopsis, reproduced in Anime News Network’s report. Her strength makes her a desirable mentor; living and practicing with her brings a different set of problems. Liza’s absent-minded behavior and physical closeness during lessons distract Eugene from the training he came for. [2]

Seven Seas calls the manga “A fun and sexy rom-com” (romantic comedy). The publisher’s description places attraction and awkward contact at the heart of My Sword Saint Master: Eugene has secured an exceptionally powerful teacher, yet their close living and training arrangements make it difficult for him to keep his attention on swordsmanship. Liza is also scatterbrained. Her lapses complicate the daily routine Eugene shares with her, giving the publisher’s account of the manga a domestic focus as well as a training setup. Seven Seas describes the source story here; its synopsis does not identify which encounters Nishida and Kashii will include in the television adaptation. [2]

The report names no voice actors. Eugene and Liza have their places in the premise; their television voices remain unspecified in this update.

From KadoComi to Ghost Ship

Kennoji writes My Sword Saint Master Is Too Cute to Live With!, and R_ringo draws it. The manga began on the KadoComi website in March 2024, and its second collected volume shipped on January 23, according to Anime News Network. Its Japanese title is Dōkyo Shiteiru Kensei no Onna Shishō ga Kawaisugite Mainichi Shiawase Desu. The anime adapts that manga, with the September announcement naming its screen production team. [1]

Seven Seas Entertainment announced its manga license at Anime Expo in July. The publisher plans to begin releasing the series in English in June 2027 through its Ghost Ship imprint, according to the same report. For English-language readers looking for the comic behind the anime, Seven Seas is the publisher identified in the announcement. The report does not give an English volume price or an exact June publication day.

Kennoji has reached television before. Drugstore in Another World: The Slow Life of a Cheat Pharmacist inspired an anime in July 2021. Anime News Network also names The Girl I Saved on the Train Turned Out to Be My Childhood Friend, I Time-Traveled and Confessed to My Teacher Crush, and Hazure Skill among the author’s other works.

Which Release Date Is Confirmed?

June 2027 refers to the English manga release. Anime News Network’s September 11 story gives no television premiere date for My Sword Saint Master Is Too Cute to Live With! It also names no broadcaster or streaming service. The publisher’s English print schedule and the anime’s broadcast schedule concern separate releases, and the date attached to Seven Seas cannot establish when the adaptation will reach screens. [1]

Searches for the My Sword Saint Master anime release date lead to a concrete limitation in this update: the report confirms production personnel and a new visual, but does not supply a viewing schedule. It provides no episode total, either. Nothing in the supplied announcement establishes whether the anime will arrive before or after the English manga begins publication, so that sequence remains open.

Wolfsbane, Lightbox, and Deregula now have a named team attached to the adaptation, from Nishida and Kashii through the character, art, and sound departments. The next scheduling information to look for is an explicit television premiere announcement. Eugene and Liza’s story has its director and studios; a broadcast date and viewing platform still need a separate update.
