MADKID’s “Unbroken” plays over the new Sasaki and Peeps trailer, giving the office worker and his magical pet bird a soundtrack for their October return. Kadokawa released the main promotional video and a new visual for season two of the adaptation, also known as Sasaki and Pichan. Crunchyroll will stream it. Sasaki and Peeps Returns in October
Tokyo MX will start the second season at 11:00 p.m. JST (Japan Standard Time) on October 7, according to the anime’s official broadcast schedule. AT-X opens an hour earlier. BS NTV follows on October 8 at 11:00 p.m., a day later than Anime News Network’s report states. The official listing gives each channel a one-hour premiere slot, putting the sequel on Japan’s autumn television schedule. [1][3]
Sasaki and Peeps returns with an hour-long opening special, a format the anime’s official website confirms and Anime Trending also reports. Season one opened the same way. Its January 2024 debut led into a run that finished with episode 12, but the new reports give no total episode count for the sequel. Tokyo MX lists half-hour Wednesday broadcasts from episode two onward; BS NTV lists the same length on Thursdays. [1][2][3]
Crunchyroll will carry the sequel, but the reports do not specify its streaming release hour or a full regional availability list. Season one reached North, Central and South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East and the CIS through the service, which also streams an English dub. Those earlier arrangements leave a practical question for the return: when will the new episodes and any dubbed version arrive outside Japan? [1]
MADKID Sets the Opening Theme
Kadokawa’s main promotional video previews “Unbroken” by MADKID, the opening theme for Sasaki and Peeps season two, as the publisher rolls out a new visual and announces two additional cast members. The song gives the trailer a piece of the coming season’s sound before the October broadcast. Anime News Network reports the casting additions; its cast list also identifies the established voices behind the central characters. [1][2]
Tomokazu Sugita voices Sasaki. Aoi Yūki plays Peeps (Pii-chan). Akari Kitō returns as Otonari-san, and Rie Takahashi voices Hoshizaki, while Naomi Ōzora plays Shizuka Futari, Miyu Tomita plays Elsa and Inori Minase plays Magical Pink. Ryōtarō Okiayu voices Akutsu. Hiroki Yasumoto plays Viscount Mueller, and Mutsumi Tamura plays Abaddon. The ensemble brings together the people around Sasaki in a story that moves between office life, another world and supernatural trouble in Japan. [1]
Koji Fujimoto and Osamu Sasaki handle the music, and the official staff credits place both names on the second season’s production team. Both worked on Mission: Yozakura Family. Fujimoto’s credits also include Tearmoon Empire, while Sasaki’s include Ragna Crimson. Their work accompanies a wider reshuffle behind the animation, where staff who helped make the first season now take charge of several departments for the sequel. [1][6]
Yūshi Ibe Takes the Lead
Yūshi Ibe now directs Sasaki and Peeps at SILVER LINK., moving up from episode direction and the assistant director role on the first season, which Mirai Minato directed. Yamato Ouchi becomes assistant director. Ouchi also directed episodes of the earlier run, so both filmmakers enter their new posts with experience on this particular adaptation. The studio continues making the animation as the directing responsibilities change hands. [1]
Kazunori Ozawa takes charge of action supervision after working as an animation director on season one, and Yūko Shintani moves from 2DCG design to compositing director of photography. Tsutomu Ogasawara becomes 3D director. He previously worked as a 3D animator. Kadokawa’s staffing announcement places several returning production members in new jobs across action, compositing and 3D work, beyond the changes at director and assistant director level. [1]
Deko Akao returns to oversee the scripts, while character designer Saori Nakashiki again shares chief animation direction duties with Yuki Sawairi. Yūki Araki remains art director. Shiho Mizumoto handles color design, and Nobuyuki Abe returns as sound director. Akao and Nakashiki helped establish the television version under Minato; their continuing roles connect the new team to an adaptation whose central problem begins with a seemingly ordinary purchase. A Bird Opens Two Worlds
Sasaki visits a pet shop looking for companionship after the grind of his corporate job, and the Java sparrow he brings home turns out to be a sage from another world. Peeps is really Piercarlo. The bird gives Sasaki magic and the ability to cross between worlds, opening a business opportunity for a man who wants a quieter life. Together, Sasaki and Peeps plan to export household goods and use the profits to live comfortably. Yen Press describes his ambition as living “in peace and comfort.” His new powers also draw him into supernatural struggles back in Japan, putting that modest wish in the path of people with very different priorities. Sasaki and Peeps is an isekai (an otherworld fantasy), with travel between worlds built into its premise. Sasaki can go back and forth. Yen Press’s first-volume synopsis mixes swords and sorcery with psychic battles and magical girls, so the household-goods trade unfolds amid conflicts on both sides of his new route. The publisher presents a protagonist pursuing leisure while his expanding supernatural life keeps creating obstacles to it. [2][4]
Buncololi starts with a working adult buying a bird, a different entry into otherworld fantasy from the Rudeus story covered in Mushoku Tensei’s warning from the future. Sasaki’s premise already existed online years before the anime reached television. The second season now returns to a series whose prose and manga editions have continued beyond the first television run. [1][2]
The Books Keep Moving
Buncololi launched the story on Kakuyomu in 2018, before Kadokawa began publishing the light novels with Kantoku’s illustrations in January 2021. Yen Press releases them in English. Kadokawa’s official series page highlights the books’ first-place ranking in the tankobon/novels division of Takarajimasha’s 2022 Kono Light Novel ga Sugoi! (This Light Novel Is Amazing!) guidebook. Anime News Network reports that the novel series remains ongoing. [1][2][5]
Pureji Osho launched the manga adaptation on Kadokawa’s Shōnen Ace Plus in 2021. Its sixth collected volume came out on June 26. [1]
The thirteenth novel volume shipped on March 25, and Anime Trending lists volume 14 for October 23, 2026, giving the books another release shortly after the television premiere. Sasaki and Peeps has two October dates on the calendar: the anime’s return and the next prose installment. Neither report identifies the novel volumes that season two will adapt, leaving its stopping point in Buncololi and Kantoku’s continuing story open. [1][2]
