The Haunting will send a Ghost Train through Warzone on September 17, with loot trapped aboard until players restore its physical form. Daniel Noel announced the Season 06 update for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 and Warzone on PlayStation Blog. The Halloween event also brings Doom rewards and zombies that fight alongside the team holding an objective. How will those encounters change the fight? [1]
The Haunting Takes Over Warzone
Haven’s Hollow becomes Haunted Hollow at launch, with supernatural activity spreading across its nighttime landscape. The Ghost Train carries goods, but players must find a way to phase it back into reality. Around the shops, pumpkins offer another gamble: interacting with one can deliver useful loot or spring a trick. Even the terrain reveals something new. A drained pond exposes ruins, while a mysterious light shines from the mansion. [1]
Giant Infected puts 64 players into a struggle to stop an outbreak. Eight randomly selected players start as Infected, with orders to infect everyone else. The remaining Survivors must build a DNA Bomb to defeat the horde. The mode gives the humans a construction objective while their opponents hunt them across Haunted Hollow. As infections spread, fewer Survivors remain to finish that job. The announcement lists Giant Infected as an LTM (limited-time mode). [1]
Warzone also adds Victory Streak challenges that unlock Universal Weapon Camos (weapon appearance options). Resurgence Ranked Play begins another season with ranks and rewards to pursue. Those competitive goals run alongside the haunted map and its encounters. Players chasing successive wins will have a different objective from those assembling a DNA Bomb, while Black Ops 7’s multiplayer brings its own struggle over who controls the undead. [1]
Zombies Pick a Side
Hordepoint returns with a rule that makes holding territory especially valuable. Zombies attack both teams while the Hardpoint objective remains neutral. Once a team captures it, the undead attack only that team’s opponents. Capturing the point therefore changes who faces the horde. Losing it means facing enemy Operators and zombies together. The Haunting gives teams another reason to push onto the objective instead of fighting around its edges. [1]
T.E.D.D. Trials brings three Zombies locations into multiplayer for the first time, according to the announcement. Teams compete six against six as a random selection of five trials rotates through the playlist. Players fight the opposing team and use Ray Guns against the horde. Roadkill comes from Ashes of the Damned, Inferno from Kowakujō, and Lost from Totenreich. Each joins this special limited-time playlist, connecting the Zombies maps to a team-versus-team contest. [1]

Quantum takes the fight to a Guild quantum computing facility beneath Arctic ice. Operators battle under a frozen turbine and around the damaged central tower. Bloodstead transforms Homestead into a horror setting where the water has turned to blood. Black Ops 7 also starts another Ranked Play season with rewards to earn. But what awaits squads that want to face the undead together, without an enemy team shooting back? [1]
The Castle Opens for Zombies
Tenshu opens at launch as a new Survival map inside the Masaki family’s ancestral castle. Squads rally in the central keep, fight the undead, and reach round milestones for rewards. Rex Infernus offers a different entry point through Directed Mode (a guided version of the Main Quest). Players seeking a confined fight can choose Starting Room instead. That challenge keeps the entire run inside the house. [1]
The house is the whole arena. Starting Room gives players no route into the wider map. [1]
Rogue Run expands to Paradox Junction and Kowakujō at launch. The mode brings a roguelite variation to round-based Zombies, with rewards available through pedestals. Three new pedestal rewards include Pack-a-Punch IV, an Ultra-Rarity weapon upgrade, and Golden Armor. The Haunting also adds pumpkin-headed zombies and treat-filled pedestal rewards across every Rogue Run playlist. Together, the extra maps and reward options broaden the places and equipment available for these runs. [1]
Players who complete every Main Quest across Black Ops 7’s round-based Zombies maps will earn unique rewards through a Super Easter Egg. Noel leaves those rewards unnamed in the announcement. That gives returning squads a concrete preparation task: check which Main Quests remain unfinished. Meanwhile, Endgame sends Operators into another supernatural encounter, with a creature waiting behind seals in Avalon after the sun goes down. [1]

Doom Enters the Reward Track
Avalon Night sets the scene for Endgame’s Forbidden Summoning Event. Players unlock seals to free a creature that arrives with The Haunting. The official overview describes the setup without detailing the creature or the complete encounter. Elsewhere in the season, a more familiar visitor arrives from Doom. The crossover includes an Event Pass (a reward progression track) and a separate Demonic Essence bundle in the store. [1]
TheGamer’s Steven Garrard lists Doom Slayer as a premium Event Pass Operator, alongside a Doom Guy skin. His report also names the BFG Siren blueprint, Crucible Katana blueprint, and an Evisceration finishing move. On the free track, the listed rewards include Researcher and Scientist Operator skins, a Mini Slayer weapon charm, and the Roc 20mm Special Weapon. Players progress through play, experience gains, and challenges, according to Garrard. The free and premium tracks contain different rewards, so the presence of a Doom item in the event does not automatically make it a free unlock. Destructoid’s Scott Duwe also reports two Doom-themed skins and weapon blueprints in the pass. [2][3]
The Demonic Essence bundle adds another set of crossover cosmetics. Garrard lists a Marauder skin for Jurado and an Icon of Sin skin for Samuels. The bundle also includes weapon blueprints and a Cacodemon charm. The official overview confirms the bundle, but gives no price. Before choosing a paid track, which weapons and rewards does the regular season progression offer? [1][2]
New Weapons and Launch Plans
The Season 06 Battle Pass includes the VMP submachine gun and TR51 Para assault rifle. In-game events and Weekly Challenges offer the Arcblade melee weapon, Roc 20mm Special, and three new attachments. Players therefore have several progression routes to follow when targeting particular equipment. The regular Battle Pass also contains weapon blueprints and Operator skins, while BlackCell adds another purchase option with its own rewards. [1]
BlackCell introduces the Revenant Operator and a Mastercraft Weapon Blueprint. Both have extra variants that players unlock through in-game challenges. The announcement does not specify those challenges in its overview. For now, players can distinguish the Battle Pass weapon unlocks from the additional BlackCell rewards, then check the relevant requirements when they arrive. Doom’s Event Pass and the store bundle add separate destinations for those pursuing crossover items. [1]
September 17 is the official Season 06 launch date. PlayStation Blog confirms both games are available on PS5 and PS4. Its overview does not give a separate Doom Event Pass date or price. TheGamer mentions September 24 and estimates a price from earlier passes; those details lack confirmation in the supplied official announcement. For The Haunting, plan around the confirmed season date and check the in-game event listing before buying the Doom pass. [1][2]
