Japanese collectible manufacturer Prime 1 Studio opened pre-orders on October 23, 2026, for a life-size Marin Kitagawa figure based on My Dress-Up Darling. The 1/1 scale collectible recreates the high school cosplayer at her official height of 164 centimeters. Priced at $7,999, it features tailored fabric clothing, swappable arm poses, and a secondary swimsuit configuration beneath her uniform [4].
Sculpting the Marin Kitagawa Figure
Prime 1 Studio sculpted the head to reflect Marin’s personality. Her long blonde hair flows downward with delicate strands that gradually fade into pink tips, precisely matching the color gradient seen in CloverWorks’ television adaptation. According to official product specifications, designers focused on her facial contours: “Eyes filled with radiant highlights. Soft yet defined facial contours. Long hair sculpted with a delicate sense of flow. Every detail of the head has been carefully crafted to capture her distinctive look” [4]. Small ear piercings finish her head sculpt [2].
The statue provides posing options through two interchangeable left arm parts. Collectors can display Marin raising two fingers in a peace sign pose, or mount an open-hand arm to recreate the theatrical posture often depicted in the anime. Both arms feature individually painted fingernails coated with glitter polish [2].
Painters applied subtle skin tones that capture her healthy complexion under different room lighting conditions. The overall dimensions shift depending on which arm sculpt is mounted on the body. With the open-hand arm attached, the statue measures 78 centimeters wide and 79 centimeters deep, creating an expansive footprint that requires substantial floor space. When swapped to the peace sign pose, the width narrows to 55 centimeters and the depth drops to 62 centimeters. These structural differences help collectors measure shelf space before delivery. Black and silver hoop bracelets complete her arm accessories, resting naturally against her wrists [4].

Fabric Uniform Options
Instead of casting clothing parts from solid painted resin, Prime 1 Studio tailored the high school uniform from real fabric materials to achieve authentic folds [1]. The outfit includes a white collared shirt, a dark necktie, and a pleated plaid skirt. Tailors adjusted the seams so the shirt drapes naturally over the shoulders [5].
Underneath, the base sculpt wears the two-piece black bikini with yellow flowers from Episode 2 [2]. In that episode, Marin visited Wakana Gojo’s home workshop to have him measure her body for her first cosplay outfit. The scene established their creative partnership. Recreating this measurement look at 1/1 scale gives collectors two distinct presentation styles from the same figure, contrasting everyday school life with one of the most recognizable comedy moments from the television series [5].
Prime 1 Studio previously used real fabric on its 1/4 scale Premium Masterline Marin statue, which featured removable school attire over lingerie. She also received a 1/7 scale Halloween figure in 2026. However, this 1/1 release represents its largest tailored garment project to date [5].

Dimensions of the Marin Kitagawa Statue
The finished statue stands 164 centimeters tall, matching Marin’s official height in the story. Under product code LSMDUD-01, the figure combines fiber-reinforced plastic, fabric, and internal metal supports anchored to a flat display base [4]. It weighs approximately 36.33 kilograms (about 80 pounds). Because each unit is assembled by hand, Prime 1 Studio noted that final dimensions and weight may vary by up to 10 percent or 10 kilograms during factory production [6]. Life-size anime statues remain unusual in the hobby market due to steep production expenses and room space requirements, with previous industry examples including Kurumi Tokisaki from Date A Live and Motoko Kusanagi from Ghost in the Shell [3].
Prime 1 Studio manufactures each piece in Tokyo under representative Rie Matsumoto, operating its primary office in Asakusa in Tokyo’s Taito ward. The business approaches its 15th corporate anniversary on March 30, 2027, continuing to produce character sculptures for collectors worldwide [6].
Unlike fixed life-size statues that offer only a single static pose, this release provides modular parts that let owners modify the silhouette. The swappable arms change the physical footprint, and the removable cloth uniform allows easy transitions between school uniform and swimsuit modes [3]. To transport the heavy display safely to overseas and domestic customers, the product ships in a reinforced carton measuring 100 centimeters high, 150 centimeters wide, and 50 centimeters deep. Buyers must prepare adequate floor clearance before the delivery truck arrives at their residence [4].

Series Background
Manga creator Shinichi Fukuda began serializing the story in January 2018 in Square Enix’s magazine Young Gangan. The narrative follows Wakana Gojo, a high school student who devotes his spare time to becoming a kashirashi, an artisan who crafts traditional Japanese Hina doll heads. Fukuda concluded the main manga serialization in March 2025 [1].
Gojo keeps his hobby secret out of fear of social judgment, but his routine changes when his popular classmate Marin discovers his sewing ability. Lacking craft skills herself, Marin asks him to design costumes for her favorite fictional characters, introducing Gojo to cosplay culture. CloverWorks adapted the manga into an anime series in January 2022 under director Keisuke Shinohara. Studio staff included series composition by Yoriko Tomita, character designs by Yusuke Yamamoto and Kazumasa Ishida, and musical scoring by Takeshi Nakatsuka. Voice actors Hina Suguta and Shoya Ishige played Marin and Gojo, joined by Atsumi Tanezaki as Sajuna Inui, Hina Yomiya as Shinju Inui, and Atsushi Ono as Kaoru Gojo [1]. Fukuda later continued the characters’ story when Wakana Gojo and Marin Kitagawa return in Dress up Darling XOXO.
Tokyo MX, BS11, Gunma TV, and Tochigi TV broadcast the anime in Japan. Internationally, it streamed on Crunchyroll and Netflix [2]. In Anime Corner’s Winter 2022 Anime Awards, voters picked the show as Best New Anime. Marin and Gojo won Best Girl and Best Boy honors, and Hina Suguta won Best Female Seiyuu [1].

Release Schedule and Price
Prime 1 Studio first teased the prototype during its NEXT LEVEL SHOWCASE XIX online broadcast in September 2026 before finalizing commercial details [7]. Pre-orders opened on the company’s online store on October 23, 2026, at 6:00 AM GMT [5]. The retail price is set at $7,999 for buyers ordering through international storefronts. In Japan, the domestic release costs ¥1,320,000 (tax included), which converts to approximately $8,300 depending on foreign exchange rates [1]. Pre-orders will close once customer reservations reach factory production capacity limits, as output remains restricted by the extensive labor required for hand-painted details [4].
Buyers must wait some time for shipments because each statue takes months of assembly. Prime 1 Studio scheduled the delivery period between March 2028 and June 2028 [4]. Kyodo TV had previously aired a live-action television drama of the story from October to December 2024, keeping the characters visible leading up to this release [2].
The JAN barcode 4582647125002 registers the collectible in Japanese merchandise catalogs as part of the Life Scale Masterline line [6]. Each completed order includes the main body secured to its base, two swappable left arms, two wrist bracelets, and the complete set of tailored school garments. Collectors will receive their purchase in a reinforced carton designed to protect the fiberglass frame during transit [4]. The $8,000 price point targets committed hobbyists, but the Marin Kitagawa figure gives fans a life-size recreation of the story’s lead heroine [2].
