Animation studio Sanzigen has animated the new Sakura Miko music video for her original song “PON-DERFUL!!!”, releasing the full clip on her official YouTube channel on October 13, 2026. Anime News Network said the studio produced the animated visuals for the Hololive Production VTuber [1]. The upbeat track belongs to Blooming Cinderella, her second full-length album that arrived in Japan on October 14. This release links the singer’s digital presence to anime craft as Hololive Production develops new musical projects for online audiences [2].

Production Team Behind the Sakura Miko Music Video

Director Tomomi Umetsu led the animated production project for Sanzigen, taking charge of the storyboard and film editing while coordinating the visual timing of the song. Umetsu shaped the sequence so the character movement matches the energy of the music from the opening beat. The production blends computer graphics (CG) with hand-drawn anime styling. This setup provides the virtual singer with fluid motion and expressive poses during fast dance routines. Umetsu oversaw every cut [2].

Art direction fell to Shin Joseph, who took on the roles of color coordinator and background supervisor for the entire video to keep the visual palette bright, inviting, and cheerful for fans watching online. Daiki Uchida led CG. Uchida served as the computer graphics director, working with studio artists who built three-dimensional assets that match Sanzigen’s established visual standards. Shōichi Ueda supervised models. Ueda checked every angle so the finished character model faithfully preserved the familiar facial features and stage costume that fans know from Sakura Miko’s regular streams and public concert appearances [2].

Animation supervisor Ayano Shimonishikida guided the movement work so the dance steps and facial expressions looked natural on screen. Keisuke Watanabe directed digital photography. Shō Shimizu handled background art and photography to give the settings rich depth. It’s a team that brings together varied talents from three-dimensional modeling to image compositing, and Go Nagai World said this group turned the digital avatar into a fully realized anime star [2].

Sanzigen Brings CG Craft to VTuber Projects

Sanzigen has built deep experience with computer graphics in Japanese anime over many years, focusing on music sequences that demand precise character motion. The animation studio doesn’t shy away from complex choreography, using three-dimensional animation tools to keep character silhouettes clean during quick camera pans around the virtual stage. Studio representatives said computer graphics allow tight control over character acting on screen. The studio uses 3D [2].

Among its best-known works, the studio produced multiple entries in the BanG Dream! franchise, including television anime such as the It’s MyGo!!!!! series, where musical performances called for detailed instrument handling and expressive stage lighting. The company also handled the anime adaptation of Rooster Fighter, showing its skill in translating bold action into three-dimensional computer animation. For this new project, the studio built on an artistic partnership that had already begun earlier in the year. Sanzigen previously collaborated with Sakura Miko on the animated video for “Fashion Beat”, which debuted in March 2026. That earlier project proved how well the studio’s animation pipeline could capture the lively personality of a virtual singer, delivering playful humor and energetic gestures that go far beyond what live tracking software can produce during regular broadcast sessions [2].

Working on “PON-DERFUL!!!” gave both teams a fresh chance to push their shared visual ideas even further. The Sakura Miko music video lets the VTuber explore character acting that isn’t possible on standard motion-capture live streams. The clip gives her avatar cinematic weight and full narrative freedom [2].

Blooming Cinderella Prepares the Next Stage Show

The new Sakura Miko music video arrived during a busy launch window for the virtual singer. Blooming Cinderella serves as Sakura Miko’s second full-length album, gathering eleven tracks that showcase different musical moods and creative partnerships. The collection follows years of standalone singles and fan-favorite cover tracks released through her online channel. Listeners can hear how her vocal delivery has developed through upbeat pop rhythms and catchy dance melodies across different songs. The album holds eleven songs [2].

Besides “PON-DERFUL!!!”, the album includes songs such as “Cinderella Story”, “Sakuraful March”, “Fashion Beat”, and “Sakihokore Aidoru”. Each song brings its own playful mood to the tracklist, showing how the singer partners with different Japanese composers to shape her musical sound and personal performance style. The album went on sale in Japan on October 14, arriving just one day after the animated music video premiered on YouTube. The music video debuted first [2].

The studio video also builds excitement for her upcoming solo concert. Sakura Miko will hold her second solo live event, titled Blooming Parade!!, on October 29, 2026 at K Arena Yokohama. Fans who picked up the album can now see the songs brought to life visually through animation before hearing them performed live on stage in Yokohama. The Yokohama show comes next. It’s an exciting moment that connects her studio music to big arena entertainment [2].

Creative Details of the Sakura Miko Animated Video

Japanese musician and producer Taku Inoue wrote the lyrics, composed the melody, and handled the full arrangement for “PON-DERFUL!!!”. Inoue has worked for years in electronic music and video game soundtracks, giving the track punchy club energy and catchy vocal hooks. His composition gives Sakura Miko plenty of room to show off her cheerful personality through fast-paced rhythm changes [2].

The Sakura Miko music video combines Inoue’s energetic beat with Sanzigen’s detailed character staging. Every scene in the clip highlights the singer’s bright charm. The animators paired colorful background art with fluid camera cuts that keep pace with the driving synth basslines throughout the song. The collaboration shows how full anime animation lets a virtual creator express comedic timing and dance moves that can’t be matched on everyday home streaming gear [2].

Anime production pipelines give these music releases a polished look similar to high-profile studio projects, such as those seen in PerEXP Teamworks coverage of The Grotesqqque anime film trailer and its musical previews. When experienced anime directors handle character staging, the resulting video feels like a standalone short film rather than a simple music promotion. That’s why this release gives audiences a fresh way to connect with the virtual performer’s fictional world [2].

Hololive Music Videos Bridge Anime and Virtual Idols

Sakura Miko has been active as a virtual talent since August 2018, becoming one of the most recognized and beloved faces under the Hololive Production agency banner. Over the years, she built up a massive global audience through regular gaming live streams, comedy segments, and music performances. Her character design and energetic persona have won followers who won’t slow down their support during her album promotions [2].

Her participation in the Magical Girls holoWitches! project, first announced in 2024, already showed how Hololive characters could step smoothly into anime and manga storylines. Agency talents are no longer confined to chat streams or gaming broadcasts, as agencies invest in original animation. High-end animated videos have grown into an important creative pillar for the entire VTuber industry. Back in 2022, fellow Hololive member Houshou Marine released an elaborate animated video for her hit song “I’m Your Treasure Box”, proving that top-tier anime production could redefine how fans view virtual idols. Houshou Marine set that precedent [2].

For Sakura Miko, teaming up with Sanzigen adds another strong piece to an identity built through music, gaming, and character acting. The Sakura Miko music video shows that a single pop song can serve as the creative foundation for an independent anime production made by seasoned studio veterans. As anime studios continue working with virtual creators, projects like this show how the boundaries between Japanese animation and VTuber culture keep disappearing [2].
