Combat footage rolls to “Dayona~Jimi Naru Jinsei~” in the new Snack World Reloaded trailer, which Level 5 unveiled during its September 10 Vision 2026 II Dream livestream. Chup gets a starring mode. The Snack World remake rebuilds Snack World: The Dungeon Crawl – Gold with revised controls and graphics, and Level 5 names 2027 for Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam. [1][5]
Snack World Reloaded Sets Its Course
Level 5 puts battles at the center of its latest trailer. Anime News Network’s Alex Mateo reports that the video previews combat gameplay and establishes the remake’s release year, while the developer promises changes to both controls and gameplay without itemizing the revised mechanics. Steam handles the PC release. Nintendo players will need to follow the Switch 2 version: the announced platform list includes neither the original Switch nor PlayStation 4. [1]
The release window stops at the year. Mateo’s report supplies no month, day or price for Snack World Reloaded, leaving a broader window than the date attached to Prinny Party’s November 11 arrival. Level 5 has named three destinations for its remake, but the available coverage does not specify regional launch differences or physical editions. Those details remain outside this announcement. [1]
Chup supplies the clearest named addition. Level 5 promises a new mode starring the anime protagonist, bringing a familiar television character into the remake as it revisits the game that English-speaking Switch owners received in 2020. The report gives no performance targets. Nor does it explain the mode’s mission structure, leaving the connection with the anime as the first thread to follow. [1]
Chup Crosses From the Anime
Chup moves into the spotlight after an anime run that began before the original game reached shops, giving his new mode a history stretching back to Japanese television in April 2017. OLM Digital animated the series. It ran for 50 episodes, and its arrival preceded the Nintendo 3DS game by several months. Level 5 has named the returning protagonist without describing which screen adventures, if any, the mode adapts. [1]
Crunchyroll carries 27 English-dubbed episodes, according to Mateo’s September 10 report. The listing covers part of the run. The same report says the service does not stream a subtitled version, so its described offering should not be confused with all 50 Japanese episodes. Chup’s television background helps explain the remake’s casting choice, although neither that streaming listing nor the new-mode announcement establishes how much dialogue or story the game will borrow. [1]
What is Snack World? Level 5 built a fantasy franchise where convenience stores and smartphones share the setting with adventure, describing the mixture as “hyper casual fantasy” and developing it across games and animation. Snack World was its fourth cross-media project (a property spanning entertainment formats), following Inazuma Eleven, Little Battlers eXperience and Yōkai Watch. The remake now draws directly from the television side through Chup, while its foundation comes from an earlier handheld game. [1]
From Trejarers to Gold
Level 5 first shipped The Snack World: Trejarers for Nintendo 3DS in Japan in August 2017, then brought The Snack World: Trejarers Gold to Nintendo Switch in April 2018. The Switch edition already changed the presentation and combat: it added enhanced graphics and a revised battle system, according to Anime News Network’s account of the release history. English-speaking players received that version in February 2020 under the title Snack World: The Dungeon Crawl – Gold. Reloaded returns to Gold as its remake’s starting point, which places the new project after an earlier round of changes made when Level 5 moved the game from 3DS to Switch. [1]
Gold bundled two DLC releases (downloadable content) from the 3DS game: “Break the Limit! Dragon Knight’s Trial” and “Devil King Of Destruction! Arrival of Demiglass.” Both belonged to the older Switch package. Mateo recounts those additions as release history, without separately confirming that Reloaded reproduces every expansion exactly as it appeared before; the remake’s complete content list remains unspecified in the available report. [1]

Snack World Reloaded now adds Chup’s mode to the announced changes, while the report leaves the treatment of Gold’s individual extras unspecified. [1]
Level 5 Builds Toward 2027
Level 5 also put DECAPOLICE on its 2027 calendar during the same livestream, announcing Switch 2, PlayStation 5 and Steam versions while dropping the planned original Switch and PlayStation 4 releases. The detective game originally targeted 2023. It subsequently moved through 2025 and 2026 before this latest delay. Snack World Reloaded shares its announced hardware and release year, though the report does not describe a comparable delay history for the remake. [2]
Harvard Marks leads DECAPOLICE. The rookie detective works at the Broadstone Police Center’s Special Investigation Unit, and the latest trailer previews The Three Mafioso Murders case while Level 5 collaborates with escape-room company SCRAP. A television anime will accompany launch. Snack World already has its anime history; DECAPOLICE plans to start its new game and television run together, extending the developer’s practice of taking an idea across entertainment formats. [2]
Holy Horror Mansion joins the same schedule. Level 5 announced 2027 releases for Switch 2, PS5 and Steam, with Ten Lordland using ghost powers against De Ville Corp and a camera named Cameron helping players locate hidden ghosts. A further cross-media presentation will follow. The three games share a year and platforms in the showcase coverage, but Level 5 has not supplied a month-by-month release order there. [3]
How Much Will Chup Change?
Snack World Reloaded leaves the scale of Chup’s mode open. Another returning game in the week’s coverage, Spike Chunsoft’s Danganronpa 2×2, offers a more explicit description of its added material: the alternate Slayhem scenario changes the victims and culprits and runs about 35 hours, according to Anime News Network. Spike Chunsoft also updates the original game’s visuals. Those details illustrate the information still missing for Chup, whose announced role comes without a playtime estimate or an account of how his missions connect to Gold. [1][4]
Is Snack World multiplayer? The Reloaded announcement coverage does not specify multiplayer support, player counts or cross-play (playing together across different platforms), and it does not document the older edition’s multiplayer features either. The combat trailer, as Mateo describes it, cannot settle those questions. PC system requirements are also absent from the report, leaving Steam players without a hardware checklist for the remake. [1]
Level 5 still needs to explain how Chup fits into the returning adventure: whether his mode follows anime events, how it connects with the rest of the game, and which of Gold’s extras return. The September report supplies none of those details. For now, his name identifies the remake’s new playable lead, while his actual route through Snack World awaits a closer look. [1]
